Offshore catering firm Trinity International Services said yesterday new business in South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Norway boosted revenue in its last financial year.
Better-than-expected profits during the period and rising demand for Trinity’s consultancy services were cause for optimism, the Aberdeen company’s chairman, Stuart MacBride, added.
He was speaking as Trinity, founded in January 1990 with the objective of becoming the largest independent catering company in Scotland, announced a large jump in pre-tax profits.
The haul of £1.53million for the year to August 2012 was nearly double the £831,997 racked up in the previous 12 months, while operating profits grew by more than 84% to nearly £1.5million
Trinity said group turnover rose by £440,000 to £12.53million in the latest period despite the “unique challenges” of its market.
It added the figures were driven by an upturn in facilities management and design consultancy services, with activity rising across Scandinavia, continental Europe, Asia and American markets.
Work in the UK North Sea accounted for about £5.79million of total turnover in 2011-12, up from £5.31million the year before.
Mr MacBride said: “Trading conditions have been particularly difficult for us since 2010, making our strong profit margin for the past year a satisfying end to an otherwise turbulent period.”
