Oil and gas service provider Petrofac has landed two contracts in the United Arab Emirates worth almost $700million.
The company has been awarded a $500million contract via its Petrofac Emirates joint venture with Muadala for expanding compression facilities at the Bab field 150km south-west of Abu Dhabi.
And in a seperate deal, it has also won via Petrofac Emirates the onshore engineering, procurement and construction tender for the Bab Hashan-1 project worth a further $187million.
The 20-month Bab Hashan project includes providing power facilities and modifications at degassing stations, while the Bab Field deal will see Petrofac Emirates undertake modifications to three existing compressor stations and install a fourth.
The work at Bab Field is scheduled to take around 30 months. Both contracts were awarded by the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshire Oil Operations.
“This project builds on the work that we are engaged in for ADCO on the large Asab development, and further deepens our relationship with an important customer,” said Petrofac onshore managing director Subramanian Sarma.
“The award follows a competitive tender process and underlines the ongoing strength of Petrofac’s competitive position in the Middle East.”
