An experienced figure in the subsea sector has been appointed managing director of DOF Subsea UK.
Giovanni Corbetta, previously managing director with Hallin Marine, will lead the company’s transformation into a provider of integrated subsea services from its headquarters in Aberdeen.
He replaces Garry Millard, who is now business-development director at Sparrows Group.
Mr Corbetta has more than 22 years’ experience in the subsea sector.
Jan-Kristian Haukeland, DOF Subsea’s executive vice-president for the Atlantic region, said: “We are delighted to welcome Giovanni to DOF Subsea UK.
“We are at an exciting time in the company’s development.
“Over the next three years we plan to grow the UK business, moving it forward from being purely a provider of high-quality technically innovative vessels and survey services for the subsea market into the subsea services arena where we will provide integrated subsea solutions.
“For us, Giovanni is the right person to lead and implement this plan.”
Mr Corbetta said: “I am delighted to be joining DOF Subsea UK at such a transformational time and looking forward to working with all the team to provide an exceptional turnkey service to our clients.”
DOF Subsea has its headquarters in Bergen, has nearly 1,400 employees worldwide and operates a 75-plus fleet, including platform and anchor-handling tug supply vessels, construction support vessels and remotely operated vehicle/survey vessels.
There are about 300 people working out of the Granite City.
