Lundin Norway says it is to spud another appraisal well at the Johan Sverdrup field off Norway.
Work is underway on the appraisal well 16/3-6 in PL501, on the north eastern flank of the large field.
The 50-day operation is being carried out at around 2025m below sea level, by semi-subersible rig Bredford Dolphin.
Lundin said the operation was to establish the depth, quality and thickness of the reservoir, which is close to two other wells which yielded ‘excellent quality sandstone’ of the right age.
