Talisman Energy has failed to find any prospects from a wildcat well on its Frode prospect in the Norwegian North Sea.
The company’s partner in the prospect, North Energy, confirmed today the site was dry, after being given approval to drill it in April.
“No hydrocarbons were encountered and the well will be plugged and abandoned,” North Energy said in a statement.
Talisman holds 31.5 percent in the license for the field, along with Cairn Energy (28.5%) and Dong (20%). North holds 20%, but is in talks with Spike Exploration over a farm-out sale of half that stake.
