Offshore chemical specialist Aubin has launched a new subsea division to provide support for aging infrastructure in the North Sea.
The firm has recruited a number of graduate chemists to support the new division, who will work alongside the company’s patented range of subsea chemical solutions.
The chemical engineering firm has been using its sealants and buoyancy gels for clients both in the North Sea nd internationally.
“Many of the assets in the North Sea were built to last 25 years and are still producing well beyond their original lifespans,” said Aubin CEO Paddy Collins.
“We have seen significant growth at Aubin through new projects and international expansion, and adding this new division was a natural step for us. We have long assisted many of our operators with integrity management solutions, and adding these new capabilities allows us to continue growing and reaching new markets.
“Our integrity management technology has been successfully applied and we anticipate a growing need for it as offshore assets continue to go beyond their natural planned lives.”
The move follows a £2.25million investment earlier this year from the Business Growth Fund.
