Swiss drilling services firm Transocean has claimed a new world record for drilling in deep water.
The company said it had spudded a well of Indian energy firm Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, off the east coast of india in 10,411 feet of water.
The well, drilled by the ultra-deepwater ship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1, would be 26ft further down than the previous record set by Transocean in February.
