Malaysian national oil company Petronas has extended its £36million contract for the Maersk Convincer jack-up rig by a further year.
The rig, which has been under contract to Petronas since 2011, will stay on to conduct high pressure high temperature drilling and under-balanced drilling until November 2014.

We see this contract as a further strengthening of our relationship with Petronas and we hope it can pave the way for strengthening our position in the flourishing Malaysian market.”
