Lundin Petroleum has spudded the first of its exploration wells on the Biotitt North Sea prospect.
The Bredford Dolphin has started drilling the first of the wells to be struck on the Norwegian North Sea find, around 46km southwest of the Johan Sverdrup field.
Lundin, which operates the prospect with a 40% interest, said it was looking to prove a hydrocarbon presence in its Jurassic sandstone reservoirs.
The Biotitt prospect, in which Bayerngas and Explora each have 30% stakes, is estimated to have a gross unrisked 124million boed.
