Jubilant Energy’s KSG#68 well in India has started production at an initial gross rate of 94 barrels of oil per day.
The announcement follows successful testing for oil in the company’s fourth of the six development wells of the Phase-III-Extension drilling campaign in the Indian state.
The well, in the Kharsang Field, Arunachal Pradesh, was spudded on May 17 and was drilled to a revised target depth of 1,510 metres.
Following well testing at the start of this month, the consortium identified total net pay of 69 metres, out of which it expects 24.2 metres to be oil bearing.
An up-hole potential of approximately 19.4 metres of net high gas oil ratio oil and 44.8 metres of gas bearing sands have also been identified.
Jubilant holds a 25% interest in the Kharsang Field. The other members of the consortium are Oil India and GeoPetrol.
