America-focused exploration firm US Oil and Gas has been cleared to drill a second exploration well in Nevada’s Hot Creek valley.
The Eblana 2 well has been given approval by the Nevada Bureau of Land Management.
“The award of the company’s second permit is an important step forward in our programme to take the Hot Creek valley discovery to the next stage,” said chief executive Brian McDonnell.
“Preparations for additional survey activities are well underway. Our purpose remains to prove up the asset in the most efficient way possible and we believe significant progress is being made by the company on all fronts.’
The company hopes to match the success of its Eblana 1 well, which found oil in the field for the first time in 30 years.
