Aberdeen’s signature Offshore Europe event will be the biggest to date, including a council-led Energy Festival in the city centre, according to organisers.
The biennial conference and exhibition will host thousands of delegates from across the world to discuss the current issues in the upstream industry.
Vasyl Zhygalo, the group exhibition director of Reed Exhibitions who organise the event, told Energy Voice the event expected to break visitor records next month.
“Last time we had close to 50,000 visitors over three days,” Zhygalo said.
“This time round Offshore Europe will be four days so we expect a close number to that or probably higher.
“It’s taking us about a month to prepare the venue to host all the exhibitors and closer to the end of the month the exhibitors will start bringing their stands and products.”
For the first time the city will also host an Energy Festival, organised by Aberdeen City Council, featuring music performances, local markets and a photo-exhibition celebrating 40 years of the industry in the city.
Offshore Europe 2013 will take place between 3 – 6 September and is free to attend.
