Kazakhstan-focused exploration group Max Petroleum says it has spudded the latest development well in the country.
The ZMA-A21 development well, in the Zhana Makat field, successfully reached a total vertical depth of 861m.
The company said it planned to complete the well, which was drilled by the Zhanros ZJ-30 rig, and put it into production as soon as possible after encountering expected levels of hydrocarbons.
Focus is set to switch now to an appraisal well in the Sagiz West field.
