Gas production at the Oselvar field has been shut down just days after it returned to action – and could be out of action until the end of September.
The field, 160 miles south of Stavanger, had been closed down in June for maintenance at the Ekofisk and Ula fields, before further delays at the BP operated Ula held up production restarting until last weekend.
However, partner Noreco has confirmed that production has stopped once again after a problem with a gas compressor on the Ula field.
“The Ula field operator is currently discussing with its vendors if the replacement can be accelerated,” the company said in a statement.
“Current estimate for start-up of production at Oselvar is towards the end of September.”
It marks another blow for Noreco, which took a 650 boed from the field during the first half of the year.
Earlier this week the company confirmed production and maintenance issues had shut in the Enoch, Nini, Cecilie, Nini East and Lulita fields in which it is a partner.
