Aberdeen drilling company Awilco has confirmed a deal to provide its WilPhoenix semi-submersible rig for Apache and Taqa for the next three years.
The $424million contract is due to begin in the second half of next year.
The companies will have the option to extend their contract for the rig, which is capable of drilling in water depths of up to 1200ft, by a further two years.
