Lundin Petroleum has come up dry after drilling a wildcat well on the Biotitt prospect.
The well, 14km northeast of the Sleipner Øst in the Norwegian North Sea, was drilled by the Bredford Dolphin.
More than 100m of upper Jurassic and Triassic sandstone was found while drilling the rocks, but despite being of excellent quality was found to be water bearing.
The well, which was drilled to around 2600m, is the first on the licence.
