Scottish oilfield specialist Glacier Energy Services has snapped up Aberdeen-based Ross Offshore in a multimillion-pound deal.
Glacier, which also has operations in Aberdeen, Glasgow and north-east England, plus Singapore, is believed to have paid at least £2million and up to £5million for the north-east business.
Ross Offshore – owned previously by founder and managing director Toby Ross and his family – employed 10 people, who are now part of Glacier’s new offshore division headquarters in Peterseat Drive, Altens.
Mr Ross continues to lead the business, whose acquisition gives Glacier a combined annual turnover of more than £15million and a global workforce of 110 people.
It is Glacier’s fourth acquisition and the group said further deals were likely in the coming months.
Managing director Mark Derry said: “Ross Offshore is a natural strategic fit for our offshore business, enhancing the range of onsite technical services we can deliver for operators and service companies.”
