Australian oil firm Senex says it has made a ‘significant’ find in its Burruna-2 exploration in the Cooper-Eromanga basin.
The company a net pay of 5.3m in the southern area of the basin, with flow tests producing more than 750 barrels per day with no associated water.
The well is to be cased as a future oil producer after being drilled to 1916m by the Ensign Rig 48 earlier this month.
Elsewhere in the basin the company says it is analysing results after cutting 18m of core through the Murta formation and finding a gross interval of 14m free oil, opening up the potential for increased production there.
