Norwegian North Sea operator Det Norske says it has come up dry on its latest wildcat on the Augunshaug prospect.
The site, east of the Gyda Field, was drilled by Det Norske and partner Tullow, but despite encountering Jurrasic age sand failed to realise any hydrocarbons.
The company had been looking for a potential 80million barrels of oil equivalent find on the field.
The well, drilled by the Maersk Giant, will now be plugged and abandoned.
