The challenges and technological advances in the rapidly growing remote operated vehicle market are to be the focus of a conference taking place in Aberdeen next month.
Industry body Subsea UK will host the conference on February 6, during the final day of Offshore Europe.
Recent research by the group indicates UK firms holds a 45% market share in the global subsea market.
“We have chosen to focus on the ROV industry due to its high growth, and specifically the changes in the market, innovative technology, operational best practice, standards and competency,” said Subsea UK chief executive Neil Gordon.
“It has long been held that the North Sea is an internationally regarded test bed and seat of learning for subsea technology and expertise,” says Mr Gordon.
“This year Subsea UK anticipates unprecedented levels of activity in the province in spite of its age and with further moves into deepwater territories, we expect to see ROVS playing an increasing role.”
