Talisman Energy have struck a deal for one of Maersk Drilling’s ultra-harsh environment rig to carry out work in the Norwegian North Sea.
The $137million deal, for an initial one-year period, will see Talisman’s Norge arm contracting out the Maersk giant for drilling operations in the region.
The contract, which is due to start next autumn, could be extended for up to three years further years.
“We are very pleased to enter into this agreement with Talisman Energy Norge, which is a highly valued customer of Maersk Drilling,” said Maersk Drilling chief executive Claus Hemmingsen.
“Norway remains a focus area for Maersk Drilling and the award confirms our strong position with the customers in the Norwegian market.”
