Oil production from Brazil dropped 4.7% in July from the previous month, after shutdowns in key Campos Basin fields.
Scheduled maintenance on three platforms and an FPSO in the basin, along with the completion of well tests in the Sapinhoa Norte field in the Santos Basin, meant output for the month fell to 1,946 thousand barrels per day.
State oil giant Petrobras saw its own output drop 4.6% to 1,888 thousand boed, but the company pointed to the installation of a new riser support buoy which will link the Sapinhoa well to the FPSO Cidade de São Paulo is now underway.
Work has also started on adapting the P-63 platform for submarine layout ahead of first oil production from the Papa Terra project in the Campos Basin from October 23.
“These operations, together with the new systems that will come on stream in the second half of the year, will contribute to Petrobras’ continuous and sustainable production growth,” the company said.
