The giant $3.4billion Galkynysh field in Turkmenistan following completion of utilities.
The Petrofac engineered project for the giant field at South Yoloten, 400km south east of Ashgabat, which is capable of processing up to 10billion cubic metres of gas per year.
The 33-month project has finally come on stream after a 33-month development programme for the plant and infrastructure, with gas now being processed.
“At its peak the project had a workforce of 60 contractors with more than 14,000 employees, three quarters of whom were Turkumany,” said Petrofac chief executive Ayman Asfari.
