Circle Oil chairman Thomas Anderson is to step down from the role after 10 years at the exploration group.
Anderson, who took over as chairman in 2004, announced his decision to leave effective from the company’s AGM, held earlier today.
“Since taking on the position of Chairman, the company has grown considerably, as has the workload required of its Board,” said Anderson.
“I feel now is the right time to step down and allow a new Chairman to take the helm as Circle continues its development.”
The 68-year-old has been replaced by Nichols Clayton, who will serve as interim chairman until a new appointment is made.
The Irish-incorporated firm, which is focused on the Middle East and Africa, saw profits up 10% to $14.7million for the first half of the year.
