While three out of four oil and gas firms are planning to grow their business by 2015, the skills pipeline remains a major concern for over 60% of energy CEOs, according to human resources specialists, PwC.
Skills remains a challenge for many oil and gas industry employers, an issue highlighted in PwC’s Northern Lights report last September.
According to analysis, almost half the industry’s workforce is now over 45 years with many expected to leave their employers over the next seven to 10 years.
As a result, Aberdeen needs to attract around 120,000 new recruits by 2022 if it is to remain a global energy capital and capitalise on opportunities created by new technology and the expansion of mature fields.
