Ongoing maintenance on key Norwegian oil and gas fields last month saw the country’s production levels drop month on month.
Average daily output fell by around 8% for August compared to July, down to 1,819,000 barrels of oil, gas and condensate, according to preliminary numbers from the country’s petroleum directorate.
Maintenance work hit the output of seven Norwegian fields during the month, with Alveheim, Gaupe, Hyme, Njord, Troll A, Vilje and Volund all affected.
Total gas sales were also down to 7.3billion standard cubic, 1.9GSm3 than July.
Despite the drop, however, the petroleum directorate said oil production was still 0.3% above the organisation’s expectations.
