The Enochdhu field in the central North Sea is set to start production by the end of next year after operators ConocoPhillips UK and Chevron’s develoment plan for the site the go-ahead.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change has approved their proposal for the field, which will see it tied back to the Callanish subsea manifold, and gas processed on the Britannia platform.
The processed gas will be transported to the St Fergus terminal while oil will be piped to Kinneil.
Set to be the fourth oil field in the Greater Britannia Area, Enochdhu is expected to produce at an initial peak rate of more than 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
“We are working very hard with industry to create the right environment for oil and gas and this is expected to be a record year for North Sea investment,” said Ed Davey, UK Energy Secretary.
“The Enochdhu development is another vote of confidence for the future of the North Sea, providing jobs and energy security.”
