An unplanned outage has cut production at Total’s gas terminal in north Scotland by 14million cubic metres today.
The outage took place at around 9.20am this morning. Total said it did not know how long the outage would last for.
“The outage was caused by a third party, and we are unable to comment on third party operations,” a spokeswoman for Total told Energy Voice.
The terminal, in Buchan, processes gas from more than 20 fields in the UK and Norwegian North Seas, and provides around a fifth of the UK’s daily gas requirements.
Last month a power outage wiped out more than 350million cubic feet of imput from the Heimdal riser platform.
