Leni Oil and Gas will go to court next March in its battle with rival Mediterranean after a row over its former Malta interest.
The company, which is being advised by Mishcon de Reya in the dispute, claims it was misled by Mediterranean after the latter bought Leni’s 10% stake in the Malta Area 4 production contract.
Less than a month later, Mediterranean Oil and Gas farmed out a 75% stake in the same field to Genel Energy for $10million.
The companies will now go to High Court in March next year to resolve the dispute.
“LGO has steadfastly maintained that it was misled by MOG in July 2012,” said Leni chairman David Lenigas.
“While we remain open to settlement discussions, we are resolved to vigorously pursue our multi-million pound claim to trial if necessary.”
