Max Petroleum is set for casing and testing of two appraisal wells following positive finds in its Eskene North and Uytas fields, the company announced.
The ESKN-2 appraisal well in the Eskene North field recorded “fair” quality reservoirs and 29 metres of net pay after reaching a depth of 1,523 metres in the Triassic formation.
In the Uytas field, the UTS-12 appraisal well successfully reached a total depth of 450 metres, with estimated seven metres of net oil pay in “excellent” quality Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoirs.
The company will now focus on the UTS-9 well drilling targeting Jurassic reservoirs with a total vertical depth of approximately 550 metres.
This is one of the six remaining wells as part of Max Petroleum’s initial appraisal programme in the Uytas field.
