Under a Repsol Sinopec contract, Fugro is providing geophysical, geotechnical and metocean services to support the development of block BM-C-33 offshore Brasil and its associated export infrastructure.
The multi-disciplinary project, now kicked off, includes a marine survey campaign conducted by Fugro’s newest FSSV65 class offshore survey vessel, Fugro Brasilis, along with the multipurpose survey vessel Geo Prospector and an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).
The geotechnical workscope includes jumbo piston coring and cone penetration testing together with data processing, whilst meteorological and oceanographic (metocean) data will be acquired during a 12-month measurement programme.
Located in the deepwater Campos Basin, block BM-C-33 is operated by Repsol Sinopec and partners are Statoil and Petrobras.
Water depths range 2,600- 2,900m and the block lies about 200km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
