Statoil’s plans to significantly grow its north-east oil and gas operations have led to a new contract for an Aberdeen-based human resources specialist.
Hunter Adams will be the new HR partner for the Norwegian energy giant after securing the deal, worth six figures.
It will see Hunter Adams provide outsourced recruitment advice and support for Statoil, which highlighted a long-term commitment to the UK North Sea during the recent Offshore Europe event.
Projects either under way or awaiting management approval could see Statoil’s UK North Sea workforce swell to up to 1,300 people.
The company expects to have 70-80 in its Aberdeen offices by the end of this year, compared with just one at the start of 2013.
The company is making good progress on its £4.4billion, 250million-barrel Mariner development about 80 miles south-east of Shetland.
A decision on whether to go ahead with work on the nearby Bressay field is expected around the turn of the year.
