Proserv chief executive David Lamont has won a top UK entrepreneur’s award – just months after winning the Scottish version of the title.
Lamont, who has been in charge at the exploration and drilling solutions firm for the last two years, picked up the award for best private equity backed business at the EY UK entrepreneur of the Year awards this week.
The Westhill-based firm, which employs more than 1900 people around the world, saw turnover almost double to £196million last year. During his time in charge, Proserv has also acquired Weatherford’s subsea controls business and Australian engineering company Velocious.
“To be recognised amongst some of the most successful businesses based in the UK is a fantastic honour and highlights the expertise of those who have helped to build our company into a respected operator across the global energy industry,” said Lamont.
“While I am very proud of this award and what Proserv has achieved over the last few years, I am most excited about what the future holds for us and ensuring we deliver on our very considerable potential.”
