The energy industry needs to find simple solutions to provide power while reducing the impact on environment, engineer-turned-TV personality Dick Strawbridge has warned.
The star of Scrapheap Challenge and It’s Not Easy Being Green was guest speaker at the e-Reps event in Aberdeen for oil and gas industry environmental representatives.
The ex-army major stressed a need for simpler communication in the energy industry to understand the impact it has on the environment.
“When it comes to communicating people about environmental issues, they have to be engaged in a way that means something to them,” Strawbridge told Energy Voice.
“We can talk about tons of CO2, we can talk about changes on the planet – it’s not going to work. Let’s talk about the bills, let’s talk about what costs people money.”
