Norway’s oil output fell 15% month on month in September, as production shut-ins took their toll on the country’s resources.
Average daily production of oil, gas and natural gas liquids was 1,598,000 according to new figures from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate – down around 287,000 a day from August.
But gas sales rose by 0.6GSm3 to 7.9billion standard cubic metres, reflecting increased gas demand.
Despite the drop, the country’s oil output remains above target and ahead of last year’s production levels.
Maintenance work saw reduced output on the Draugen, Kristin, Norne, Skuld, Tordis, Tyrihans and Åsgard fields, while the Njord field remains offline until next Summer.
