Subsea engineering and construction contractor Technip has been awarded a “substantial” deepwater development contract in the Gulf of Mexico.
The deal covers project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of more than 200 kilometers of infield and export flowlines and risers on the Delta House field, located in the Mississippi Canyon area of the US Gulf of Mexico.
Development of offshore installations is scheduled for the second half of next year and the field is due to start commercial operation in 2015, said the operator LLOG Exploration Offshore.
Technip’s remuneration for the contact with LLOG was not disclosed, but is said to be ranging between €100 to €250million (£84 to £212million).
“This new project reinforces our leadership in the US Gulf of Mexico deepwater market,” said Frédéric Delormel, Technip’s executive vice president and chief operating officer subsea.
“It also confirms our positioning in deep to shallow export lines, following the acquisition of Global Industries.”
