Bond Helicopters Australia have celebrated the launch of a new offshore business on the continent today.
Representatives of State and Federal Governments, oil and gas companies and the aviation industry were among the guests at a ceremony at Darwin International Airport to mark the opening of the new company, due to begin flight operations in November.
Around 50 new skilled staff will initially support Thailand petroleum operations in the Timor Sea with three 19-seat Eurocopter AS332L helicopters.
Three new Eurocopter EC225 will join the Bond fleet in early 2014 at the Mungalalu-Truscott airbase, Western Australia.
“I am thrilled to be launching Bond in Australia, and I look forward to continuing to build our offshore business in such an exciting market,” said John Boag, managing director at Bond Helicopters Australia.
“We are determined to deliver the highest standards of safety and quality to our customers. I can’t wait to start flying.”
