The second key well in Bridge Energy’s latest North Sea drilling campaign was found dry, the company announced today.
Asha East was the company’s current focus of its Amol and Asha East prospects in the Norwegian PL457 licence.
The well was drilled to its total depth but despite oil shows, the deposits were not substantial for commercial production.
The drilling followed disappointing results of the Amol well drill in September which found poor quality reservoirs.
Both wells are to be sealed and abandoned, the company said.
Bridge has a 20% interest in the PL457 licence; Wintershall is the operator with 40%, with the other partners VNG (20%) and E.ON (20%).
