Direct flights between Stavanger, Harstand and Tromsø to serve Norway’s oil and gas industry will take to the air from January 23.
Operator Bmi Regional will launch its first domestic service in Norway in the New Year after demand from the energy industry.
The announcement comes following the launch of the Aberdeen-Kristiansund and Aberdeen-Oslo routes from the firm earlier this year to link the Scottish and Norwegian oil and gas sectors.
“Solid market data combined with engagement from local government, businesses and the airports convinced us to enter this market to meet growing demand from the oil and gas industry and support the socio-economic development of the communities in the north,” said Bmi Regional chief executive Cathal O’Connell.
The launch of the route comes after a report at the ONS Norway event in Stavanger earlier this year, which looked at how the energy industry could save money through faster flight connections in the emerging oil regions.
