Energy industry services giant Wood Group PSN has landed a one-year extension to support Chevron’s Alba and Captain fields in the North Sea.
The deal, which is effective immediately, will understood to be worth around £12million and will secure the jobs of around 110 people in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
It extends an agreement in place since 2009.
Wood Group PSN will provide engineering and construction services to the Alba Northern platform and floating storage unit in the Alba field, around 130 miles north-east of Aberdeen.
It will also support two platforms and a FPSO in the Captain field, 68 miles offshore.
“This is an important extension from a key client in our UK business,” said Wood Group PSN managing director Dave Stewart.
“It cements our relationship with Chevron which dates back to 1993, when we were first awarded the topsides support services contract for the production facilities in the Alba, Captain and Erskine fields.”
