Oil and gas companies believe the North Sea still provides a wealth of investment opportunities, the Pilot Share Fair has revealed.
Industry representatives taking part in the Oil & Gas UK event on Wednesday agreed they felt confident about their current and future operations in the region, with interest in their activities running high during the afternoon.
“You have many places you can explore for oil, but certainly the North Sea is a proven basin and we still think we can get the returns that we need,” Michael Munro, strategy coordinator for Apache North Sea told Energy Voice.
The annual event, showcasing the upcoming developments by UK oil and gas businesses, featured major industry operators and attracted 1,300 attendees this year.
“The reason why we’re here is to show the market that we’re in Aberdeen – we want to be visible; we also want to show them that we have many plans of tendering for the next years and of course it’s also part of the industry – it’s an expectation that if you’re in the UK you take part in this event,” said Maja Kildedal, head of procurement in Aberdeen at Statoil
