Healthcare firm Clavis Pharma has made a move into the energy industry afer buying Norwegian oil and gas consultancy Aqualis Offshore
The company, which has renamed to Aqualis ASA to reflect the new direction, has agreed a £7.2million takeover deal which will see it acquire 100% of the offshore firm.
“The acquisition of Aqualis Offshore represents an exciting change in strategic direction for us,” said Gunnar Manum, acting CEO of the new group.
“We will now consist of a new major business area of specialist marine and engineering consultancy services to the offshore oil and gas industry, in addition to our existing healthcare activities.”
Aqualis Offshore, founded last December, provides offshore marine and engineering consultancy for the oil and gas industry, including concept, FEED and design for rigs, FPSOs and deep-water projects.
It employs 60 staff in the UK, Norway, the USA and the UAE.
