Aberdeen-based energy support firm Stork Technical Services is to expand into the Middle East after launching a new joint venture based in Qatar.
The project, which will see the firm partner with local service provider Oryx Energy Products, will operate from the company’s Ras Laffan base in Qatar.
The new venture will provide engineering, repair, maintenance and upgrade facilities to the oil and gas market across North Africa, Iraq and the gulf states.
“Stork and Oryx have established this joint venture to provide customers with access to excellent facilities and resources in the region, and the latest technology backed-up by highly qualified and experienced personnel from Europe to execute major contracts”, said Stork vice president Richard Janmaat.
“This joint venture with Oryx enables us to further strengthen our footprint in the MENA region.”
The new venture, to be known as Stork Oryx Turbo Machinery Services, will provide turbo equipment across the region.
