Oil industry services group Petrofac is to provide support for Nigeria’s oil industry after striking a deal country’s petroleum company.
The memorandum of understanding, struck together with African oil firm Taleveras Energy Resources, will see Petrofac working with Nigeria’s Petroleum Development Company.
As part of the deal, Petrofac will provide financial, technical and support for developing the OML119 off the country’s south-east coast.
Two large reservoirs were discovered on the field, which already produces 35,000 barrels of oil per day, earlier this year.
The agreement will also see Petrofac, which has been looking to establish a stronger presence in the region for some time, offering support to NPDC’s targets of developing indigenous oil and gas services.
