North-east specialist marine equipment firm Motive Offshore has invested £30,000 in new office facilities in Aberdeen and Stavanger.
The firm, which is headquartered in Boyndie, near Banff, has opened a new sales office in the Granite City and a fully operational base in Stavanger, Norway.
Motive manufactures and hires modern marine deck equipment, including winches, hydraulic power units, and associated wire spooling and equipment and sheaves.
Launched in 2010, the firm has grown from a team of 10 employees and two directors to 73 employees and three directors – an increase of 32 members of staff in the past 15 months.
Motive says its new Stavanger base, which includes office space and a yard for manufacturing, design and servicing, has been created to capitalise on the firm’s increasing customer base in Norway.
At present only one sales manager is based in Norway, however Motive plans to increase its team in the Scandinavian country in the next few months.
“We have seen a rapid increase in client work in Norway and therefore recognised a specific requirement to secure a base to meet operational needs,” said managing director James Gregg.
Operations director Dave Acton said the sales team had been relocated from the headquarters in Boyndie to the Aberdeen office, located in the city’s harbour area, to offer a more central base to meet current and potential clients.
