Turkmenistan-focused exploration company Dragon Oil has successfully completed drilling of two wells off the country’s shores to close the year on a production high.
The Dzheitune (Lam) C/185 well was drilled to a depth of 2,905 metres and completed as a dual producer, with initial production from both strings totalling 3,727 barrels of oil per day (bpod).
The Dzheitune (Lam) C/186 well – also dual producer – tested at the initial total rate of 2933bopd, drilled to the total depth of 2,833.
The company is looking to start four new drills in the Cheleken licence in the next two months: two in the Dzheitune field and two in the Dzhygalybeg field.
The average production from the field in 2013 was 9.1% higher than the previous year, as the company finished the year at 74,812 bopd.
