The boss of Petrofac’s integrated energy services business is to leave the services firm next month to take over at US frontier explorers Kosmos.
Andrew Inglis, who has led the company’s energy services division since June 2011, will take over as chairman and chief executive at the Dallas-based, Africa and South American-focused group from March 1.
The former engineer began his career on projects in the North Sea before working with BP Exploration in Aberdeen, and spent 30 years with BP before joining Petrofac three years ago.
“I am very proud of what we have achieved with Integrated Energy Services over the past three years,” said Inglis.
“I am excited by my new role and the professional and personal opportunities it brings, and I leave a strong and capable team to build on IES’s current success and the substantial market opportunity.
“2014 will be an exciting year for Kosmos as the company starts to unlock its world-class exploration portfolio with a high-impact drilling program.”
Current IES managing director of developmets Rob Jewkes will take over as chief operating officer for the integrated energy division, with Petrofac group chief executive Ayman Asfari overseeing the operations.
“I would like to thank Andy for the considerable contribution he has made to Petrofac, and to the board,” said Petrofac chairman Norman Murray.
“We are sad to see Andy go but understand his reasons and the opportunity his new role affords him in that regard.”
