The Huntington gas field is set to resume production after being shut down for a week by storms in the North Sea.
The field, which only returned to full capacity in December after months of technical problems, was hit by the adverse weather conditions in the region.
“From 15 January production was again significantly reduced and then shut in, due to adverse weather resulting in delays to offloading the oil cargo tanks to the shuttle tanker,” said project partner Noreco.
“The cargo tanks have now been off-loaded and the shuttle tanker has departed the field. Production is expected to resume shortly.”
The North Sea field, around 200km east of Aberdeen, is set to produce around 40,000 barrels of oil per day at peak operation, but safety issues over the summer and gas pipeline problems reduced output before December.
