Decom North Sea, the decommissioning forum for the energy industry, has welcomed the first female director into its board following the appointment of an Aberdeen energy firm’s boss.
Pamela Ogilvie, general manager of Quicklange UK, will contribute to the setting of future strategy for Decom, including developing guidelines and strategies and for the sector and responding to economic and technical challenges of the aging industry.
“With recent Decom research predicting that decommissioning expenditure on the UK Continental Shelf will increase to £35 billion between now and 2040, there is clearly no better time to be helping to shape the sector and I’m delighting to be joining the Decom board,” Ogilvie said.
“The last few years have seen Quickflange become a major force in the decommissioning sector and I look forward to sharing my experience with Decom.”
Ogilvie joined Quickflange – Aberdeen-based providers of pipe connection systems – in 2008 and became the company’s director the following year.
Previously she worked as commercial manager at Norse Cutting & Abandonment, financial controller at Cutting Underwater Technologies, and owned three printing businesses in Aberdeen.
The news shortly follows the appointment to the board of Torleif Gram, senior vice president with Aker, to provide support for Decom’s events and activity in Norway.
