Aberdeen-based oil and gas consultancy firm Magma Products has invested £500,000 in a new base in Great Yarmouth.
The base at Beacon Park will feature a specialist equipment hire and maintenance services division for the southern North Sea and European markets.
Initially six jobs will be created, however Magma plans to hire up to 30 more staff for the base by the end of the year.
Andrew Sannick, who has worked for various oil and gas companies including Shell, Baker Hughes and most recently EnerMech as its business development manager, will head up the team.
“The opening of a Great Yarmouth operation is a key strategic step forward in our business growth plans,” said managing director Paul Rushton.
The firm was formed in 2011 and now hires 90 staff. It provides specialist offshore commissioning and start-up services to the oil and gas sector.
At the beginning of 2013, it invested £750,000 in new offices at the Spires Business Park in Aberdeen.
